COUNTRYWIDE REWARD SCHEME (“Scheme”) TERMS & CONDITIONS
PLEASE READ ALL PARTS OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY. YOUR ATTENTION IS PARTICULARLY DRAWN TO CLAUSE 3, 4.7, 6 AND 7.
These Terms and Conditions are only available in English.
Schedule 1 to these Terms and Conditions forms part of these Terms and Conditions. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and Schedule 1, these Terms and Conditions shall take precedence over Schedule 1 in respect of the inconsistency.
1.1 The Scheme Promoter is Countrywide Principal Services Limited (referred to in these Terms and Conditions as "we", "us" and "our"). We are registered in England with company registration number 1707341. Our registered office is at Countrywide House, 88-103 Caldecotte Lake Drive, Caldecotte, Milton Keynes, BUCKS. MK7 8JT. Our Data Protection Registration Number is Z7216720.
1.2 Capitalised terms used in these Terms and Conditions have the meaning given to them in this clause or as given in other clauses. "Countrywide Mortgage Services" is a trading name of Countrywide Principal Services Limited, Countrywide Estate Agents Financial Services Limited and other third parties authorised by Countrywide Principal Services Limited, "Countrywide Insurance Services" is a trading name of Countrywide Principal Services Limited, "Group" means Countrywide plc, any company of which Countrywide plc is a Subsidiary (its "Holding Company") and any other Subsidiaries of any such Holding Company or Countrywide plc, "Subsidiary" means a “subsidiary” as defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006 and "Website" means the website at www.countrywiderewards.co.uk.
2.1 By participating in the Scheme you confirm that you are 18 years of age or over and capable of entering into legally binding contracts and you agree that all the information you provide to us when you complete your registration is correct. If you are a Countrywide plc Group employee the Scheme is also open to you on these terms.
2.2 To be eligible to participate in the Scheme you must have completed a "Qualifying Transaction". If you have not already completed a mortgage purchase through Countrywide Mortgage Services a "Qualifying Transaction" will be a mortgage product, general insurance product or life product sold to you by Countrywide Mortgage Services. If you purchased a mortgage product from Countrywide Mortgage Services before the Scheme started a "Qualifying Transaction" will be the first renewal, after the start of the Scheme, of a General Insurance Policy (as set out at Schedule 1) renewed with Countrywide Insurance Services or the purchase of a further mortgage through Countrywide Mortgage Services if 90 days or more has passed since the purchase of the original mortgage purchased through Countrywide Mortgage Services. No other transactions entitle you to join the Scheme, other than at our discretion.
2.3 If you are eligible to join the scheme you may register via the Countrywide Rewards website. If you believe you are eligible to join please contact Countrywide Rewards by e-mailing rewards@countrywiderewards.co.uk or phoning
2.4 When you complete your first Qualifying Transaction you will be required to accept these Terms and Conditions at which point a contract will be formed between you and us on these Terms and Conditions (referred to in these Terms and Conditions as the "Contract"). If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions you will not be able to participate in the Scheme. We may need to revise and amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If we change our Terms and Conditions, we will notify any changes via the Website. Earning, exchanging and/or having Reward Points activated after a change to our Terms and Conditions means you accept the amended Terms and Conditions.
2.5 Your first Reward Points will be added to your account (referred to in these Terms and Conditions as "activated") 90 days after the completion of the Qualifying Transaction unless you cancel the Qualifying Transaction or it terminates for any reason in that 90 day period. We will send you an email to confirm this and you will then need to complete the registration on the Website. Once you have completed the registration we will send you an email confirming your log in details and password. We reserve the right to reject your registration.
2.6 Reward Points can only be earned, held and/or exchanged in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Earning, exchanging and/or having Reward Points activated other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or attempting to do so will entitle us to terminate the Contract. Any Reward Points earned and/or held other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions are invalid and cannot be exchanged for rewards and any such Reward Points may be revoked at our sole discretion.

3.1 Once you have joined the Scheme, further Reward Points are available when you enter into further "Qualifying Transactions" as above and when you enter into "Reward Transactions". "Reward Transactions" are the completion, renewal or anniversary of the purchase of certain qualifying products and services from Countrywide Mortgage Services or Countrywide Insurance Services. Details of Qualifying Transactions, Reward Transactions, the number of Reward Points and further applicable terms and conditions are set out at Schedule 1 to these Terms and Conditions. PLEASE READ SCHEDULE 1 CAREFULLY. In all cases qualifying products and/or services will be identified and communicated to you via the Website and/or by email.
3.2 In all cases Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the completion/renewal/anniversary (as applicable in each case) of the Qualifying Transaction or Reward Transaction unless you cancel the Qualifying Transaction or Reward Transaction or the Qualifying Transaction or Reward Transaction terminates for any reason in that 90 day period in which case the points will not be activated.
3.3 Additional Reward Points may be made available from time to time under specific promotions and full details will be given at the time. In all cases qualifying products and/or services will be identified and communicated to you via the Website and/or by email.
3.4 Reward Points are allocated on a per Qualifying/Reward Transaction basis. If a Qualifying/Reward Transaction is made jointly with one or more people, you will jointly receive Reward Points in respect of the Qualifying/Reward Transaction and will have a joint Scheme account and login details for that account.
4.1 There are three tiers of rewards which are available depending on how long you have been a member of the Scheme. If you have been a member of the Scheme for less than one year, tier one rewards are available to you. If you have been a member of the Scheme for more than one year but less than two years, tier one rewards and tier two rewards are available to you. If you have been a member of the scheme for two or more years tiers one, two and three rewards are available to you. Within the reward tier(s) available to you, you must have sufficient Reward Points to obtain the reward selected.
4.2 A hard copy of the current catalogue is available on request from us by writing to us at the above address. From time to time we may vary the online catalogue, for example, by removing or changing any item or offer and changing the Reward Points applicable to any item or offer. The online catalogue is the definitive guide to rewards available and all Reward Points can only be exchanged for items available in the online catalogue at the date of redemption.
4.3 You may review and monitor the number of Reward Points you have collected by accessing the Website. For the purpose of the Scheme you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Website. Use of the Website is subject to terms of use at www.countrywiderewards.co.uk.
4.4 You may only spend Reward Points once they have been activated. If Reward Points are only allocated to you then they must be activated in accordance with these Terms and Conditions before they can be exchanged for rewards.
4.5 The exchange of Reward Points for rewards is subject to the terms and conditions of the provider of the reward and all applicable laws. Reward Points you have exchanged will be deducted from your Reward Points total.
4.6 Reward Points are personal to you and they may not be transferred, traded or exchanged with anyone else. Reward Points cannot be acquired in any way other than through a Qualifying/Rewards Transaction as set out above. You cannot purchase additional Reward Points in order to increase your Reward Points total to obtain a higher value reward.
4.7 You may accumulate Reward Points but you must use your Reward Points within 24 months of the date the latest Reward Points were activated or all your Reward Points will be lost.
4.8 If you do not have enough Reward Points or we suspect fraud or dishonesty the exchange may be refused and/or cancelled at our discretion.
4.9 No cash or credit alternative is available in place of any reward or Reward Points. Reward Points do not have a cash value.
5.1 Countrywide Mortgage Services and/or Countrywide Insurance Services will pass personal data of yours to us that we need in order to administer the Scheme and by participating in the Scheme you consent to this transfer.
5.2 All your personal data will be dealt with in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and our privacy policy which can be found at http://www.countrywidemortgages.co.uk/Terms.aspx. Our privacy policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions and it may change from time to time and you should review it regularly. By joining the Scheme you consent to us passing your personal data to our third party agents who administer the Scheme on our behalf and to the providers of the rewards you select.
5.3 We reserve the right at all times to monitor your participation in the Scheme to ensure compliance with these Terms and Conditions. We also reserve the right to monitor, review, retain and/or disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.
5.4 You may notify us by e-mail if you wish us to remove your details from the Scheme database. We will remove such details and terminate your participation in the Scheme and any unredeemed Reward Points at that time will be cancelled. YOUR ATTENTION IS PARTICULARLY DRAWN TO THIS PART
6.1 Except as set out in clauses 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4, we accept responsibility for any damage, loss or liability suffered or incurred by you as a result of your taking part in this Scheme only to the extent it is caused by our negligence. We accept responsibility for damage to your computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Scheme only to the extent that it is caused by our negligence. We accept responsibility for death and personal injury caused by our negligence. We accept responsibility for our breach of contract.
6.2 We do not accept responsibility for damage, disappointment, loss or liability suffered or incurred by you as a result of lost or misdirected email, mail or faxes unless and to the extent that such loss of damage is caused by our negligence.
6.3 We do not accept responsibility for any damage, disappointment, loss or liability suffered or incurred by you as a result of an act or omission of a provider of any reward or any other third party.
6.4 We do not accept responsibility for business losses/loss of profit.
7.1 We may suspend or terminate your participation in the Scheme if you have breached these Terms and Conditions, if we suspect there has been any theft, dishonesty and/or misconduct by you in connection with us, if we suspect third party interference with your participation in the Scheme, if we suspect you have been abusive or offensive to a member of staff and/or if you breach the terms and conditions of the provider of a reward or of our third party agent.
7.2 We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to close the Scheme at any time. Closure of the Scheme will be notified on our Website. If you want to exchange your Reward Points you must do so before the Scheme closes or your Reward Points will be lost.
7.3 If you breach these Terms and Conditions we may terminate the Contract without giving you prior notice. If you breach these Terms and Conditions we may cancel any Reward Points that you have not exchanged when you breach these Terms and Conditions.
7.4 If your participation in the Scheme ends for any reason you no longer have the right to exchange Reward Points for rewards and the licence granted to you under clause 4.3 will end.

9.1 You may not transfer your rights and obligations under the Contract.
9.2 We can transfer our rights and obligations under the Contract without further consent from you in order for the Scheme to be provided continuously or if we sell our business.
9.3 In the event of exceptional circumstances beyond your and/or our control occurring (including in respect of any third party assisting with the running of the Scheme), we and you will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in the performance of, any of the obligations under the Contract that is caused by such event beyond your and/or our control and we reserve the right to suspend, modify or close the Scheme.
9.4 We may sub-contract the running and promotion of the Scheme to a third party.
9.5 Calls to and from our customer service teams (on such contact numbers provided from time to time) may be monitored and/or recorded for training and security purposes.
9.6 If you want a paper copy of these Terms and Conditions we will send a copy to you free of charge.
9.7 If any of these Terms and Conditions or any provisions of the Contract are found by a competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable then that part will be deleted and the remaining parts will still be valid.
9.8 Third parties to this Contract do not have a right to enforce its terms.
9.9 The Contract will be governed by English law and any dispute arising from, or related to the Contract shall be heard exclusively in the courts of England and Wales except that if you are resident in Scotland, Scottish law may apply and the Scottish Courts may be able to hear such a dispute.
PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY
Please note that Reward Points will be allocated for Mortgages only once at completion of a mortgage or re-mortgage through Countrywide Mortgage Services and not on the anniversary date of the Mortgage.
Standard Mortgages
You will be allocated 1000 Reward Points on completion of the purchase of a Mortgage unless you or a person with whom you have bought the Mortgage has completed a Mortgage other than a Buy to Let Mortgage through Countrywide Mortgage Services within 90 days prior to the completion of the Mortgage in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 1000 Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the Mortgage has completed. If you cancel the Mortgage or the Mortgage terminates for any other reason during this 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Mortgage or the Mortgage terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Buy to Let Mortgages
You will be allocated 1000 Reward Points on the completion of a Buy to Let Mortgage unless you or a person with whom you have bought the Buy to Let Mortgage has completed five or more Buy to Let Mortgages through Countrywide Mortgage Services within 365 days prior to the completion of the Buy to Let Mortgage in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 1000 Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the Buy to Let Mortgage has completed. If you cancel the Buy to Let Mortgage or the Buy to Let Mortgage terminates for any other reason during the 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Buy to Let Mortgage or the Buy to Let Mortgage terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Please note that the purchase of a life product only attracts Reward Points if it is purchased by you through Countrywide Mortgage Services.
Mortgage Protection Plan
You will be allocated 400 Reward Points on completion of the purchase of a Mortgage Protection Plan unless you or a person with whom you have bought the Mortgage Protection Plan has completed any other Mortgage Protection Plan through Countrywide Mortgage Services within 90 days prior to the completion of this Mortgage Protection Plan in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 400 Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the Mortgage Protection Plan has completed. If you cancel the Mortgage Protection Plan or the Mortgage Protection Plan terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Mortgage Protection Plan or the Mortgage Protection Plan terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
If you originally purchased the Mortgage Protection Plan under the Scheme and your Mortgage Protection Plan is still in force then you will be allocated 200 bonus Reward Points on the first and second anniversary of the original Reward Points being activated, but not for subsequent years. The 200 bonus Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the first and second anniversary of the original Reward Points being activated. If you cancel the Mortgage Protection Plan or the Mortgage Protection Plan terminates for any other reason during the 90 day period then the bonus Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Mortgage Protection Plan or the Mortgage Protection Plan terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the bonus Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Personal Protection Plan
You will be allocated 400 Reward Points on completion of the purchase of a Personal Protection Plan unless you or a person with whom you have bought the Personal Protection Plan has completed any other Personal Protection Plan through Countrywide Mortgage Services within 90 days prior to the completion of the Personal Protection Plan in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 400 Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the Personal Protection Plan has completed. If you cancel the Personal Protection Plan or the Personal Protection Plan terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Personal Protection Plan or the Personal Protection Plan terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
If you originally purchased the Personal Protection Plan under the Scheme and your Personal Protection Plan is still in force then you will be allocated 200 bonus Reward Points on the first and second anniversary of the original Reward Points being activated, but not for subsequent years. The 200 bonus Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the first and second anniversary of the original Reward Points being activated. If you cancel the Personal Protection Plan or the Personal Protection Plan terminates for any other reason during the 90 day period then the bonus Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Personal Protection Plan or the Personal Protection Plan terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the bonus Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Please note that insurance policies "complete" when the purchase of the policy completes not when the cover under the policy starts.
Purchase of General Insurance Policies
Please note that the completion of a purchase of a General Insurance Policy only attracts Reward Points if it is purchased by you through Countrywide Mortgage Services.
You will be allocated 200 Reward Points on completion of a General Insurance Policy (other than Lets Protect Insurance Policies, see below) unless you or a person with whom you have bought the General Insurance Policy has purchased the same type of General Insurance Policy through Countrywide Insurance Services within 90 days prior to the completion of the General Insurance Policy in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 200 Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the General Insurance Policy has been completed. If you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Purchase of Lets Protect Insurance Policies
You will be allocated 200 Reward Points on completion of the purchase of a Lets Protect Insurance Policy unless you or a person with whom you have bought the Lets Protect Insurance Policy has completed five or more Lets Protect Insurance Policies through Countrywide Insurance Services within 365 days prior to the completion of the Lets Protect Insurance Policy in which case you will not be allocated any Reward Points.
The 200 Reward Points will be activated for you 90 days after the Lets Protect Insurance Policy has been completed. If you cancel the Lets Protect Insurance Policy or the Lets Protect Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period then the Reward Points will not be activated.
If you cancel the Lets Protect Insurance Policy or the Lets Protect Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Renewable General Insurance Policies
You will be allocated 200 bonus Reward Points on General Insurance Policies which are renewable when you renew, including Lets Protect Insurance Policies, except that if you have a Home Buyer or Home Starter Policy, you will be allocated 400 bonus Reward Points when you renew. The bonus Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the renewal unless you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period.
If you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
Continuous General Insurance Policies
You will be allocated 200 bonus Reward Points on all General Insurance Policies which are not renewable on the anniversary date of the General Insurance Policy. The bonus Reward Points will be activated 90 days after the anniversary unless you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason in the 90 day period.
If you cancel the General Insurance Policy or the General Insurance Policy terminates for any other reason after the 90 day period, you will not lose the Reward Points which have been activated but you must use the Reward Points within 24 months or they may expire (see clause 4.7 above).
